down memory lane

Down memory lane possibly a double entendre.  Down to Coconut Grove, down the rabbit hole as Alice on a chases the rabbit and I my  memories.  Many  years ago Artists Purvis Young and Fred Hunt were honored with the title of Miami Masters at this event.         Many friends came out this weekend (last weekend) as it was sunshine for both days after many days of daily rain.  Much has changed no remaining galleries those became virtual office spaces with large TV screens and advertisements.  Many new restaurants I’d never heard of.

Friends came up all saying they follow me on this blog.  So I owe a more regularly scheduled post after all this is about our quirky little seaside town  Lake Worth (Beach)  and all that is LW. Watch out folk,  there may be an influx of new people.  One already has her house up for sale and will rent here to see where she will best fit in (Lisa).  Others have been eyeing the activities that Lake Worth offers.   The LGBT community center is of interest  for Kristine and her bride.  They recently married in Thailand.

just another form of vehicle down the sidewalk among bikes, trikes, baby carriages

Coconut Grove is part of Miami, does not offer this and has 5 million people plus congestion.  Recently Coconut Grove has been following our suit creating LFL. I’ve said often the reason we picked Lake Worth it reminded us of what the Old Grove and Old Key West were.

Alice dropped by and extended invitation to tea

My trip was to enjoy the Mad Hatter Art Festival  and visit and care for my friend who fell off scaffolding.

The Festival spread out into the streets, well always had. So I share photos  and a pop up book for my friend who could not come and help me this time as planned. Loved the event. As I chatted with Alice for a bit and I casually asked her what her name was “Alice” with out a hesitation.  All I know she is 15 from one of the magnet art schools and stayed in character.

I loaned it to this young women on the second day and she rocked it.

I won 2nd place  ($50 )at a local eatery, for my hat that last was seen at the Running of the Roses Derby Party here in Lake Worth.  1st place went to a very clever Steampunk hat.  Tea time was wonderful .  more photos on my Face Book page .  There was also a silent auction with two bikes among other gifts donated by the BID .

not sure if she got bigger or smaller as I was later for a very important date.
