Small and buy local

img_2813Come shop with us, get a  start Friday evening, enjoy our new exhibit.  Nowhere else is your patronage  more appreciated than in our quirky seaside town of Lake Worth.  Come meet the artists tonight.

We go a step further  a story to go with the items that have been hand crafted by our artists.  First of al, seen here is Lake Worth Art Leagues youngest member.  Who has not misspent his youth.  img_2787Fascinated with glass from an early age he found his way to the Benzeiten Center and took one class after another. At just 14 he is a dedicated artisan and has created 30 glass globes.  Not without some miss-haps along the way.   He says, they will not shatter if dropped.  They are priced $15 for the clear ones and $18 for the blue and colored ones.  besides those, he’s made  glass weights, all available in the gallery.

img_2290Nothing like self promotion.  Here are some paintings that are small precursor for larger works of art. The object of a thumbnail, is to work out problems before tackling a large expensive canvas.  Here in the Lake Worth Art League Gallery there are 50 very affordable 12×12 canvases that definitely could find a good home in the many cottages that dot  quirky City of Lake Worth.  It was time to let  mine go and find  home, elsewhere.

Also the Lake Worth Art League created a nook that is now their GIFT SHOP.  img_2810There you will find  one of a kind creations made with our own hands. Very affordable to the top price, of $100 .  Something for the ART lover in your life.  Always popular year-round are the hand crafted ceramic hearts.  A new edition just got delivered, has a working compass so you can follow your heart.  img_2797 Need something for family up north ? Unique are the felted scarfs guaranteed to keep the chill at bay and by the same artist Bunny who also painted silk scarfs.  Jewelry to fit the queen of Sheba all price ranges.  From very small bracelets that might be worn to the Father Daughter soiree.  Also some more masculine bracelets for men. All are were made with  love, price was never part of the equation at creation.

This all starts Friday with an opening Reception at the Lake Worth Art Gallery at 604 Lucerne Ave.  Of course Saturday is the official Buy small buy local. images The  hours are noon to 9 p.m.  both Friday and Saturday.  Sunday noon to 6 p.m.  Don’t miss the artists out at our beach on Saturday.  It promises to be a great weekend. About 10 years ago American xpress came up with this concept.  We all became loyal patrons of the local establishments.  Buy small buy local proved to be a great marketing tool.

Not sure how you will fit in all these happenings  this weekend. Must mention on 7th and Dixie is MacMow Glass and for the curious you might just drop in on Saturday morning and get a taste  of working with glass. c36a663d-775a-4222-b758-7b5b5bff3b0f
