Thursday night peddlers ride again on THURSDAY

QUIRKY MAYBE BUT The THurSDAY NIGHT peddlers are back on track.  Riding every Thursday night from here on in. YES and with the time change we meet 5:30 and ride at 6p.m..  This is an open group of bike riders of all skills, who have now ridden up and down our Lake Worth streets for the past two years or is it three?image

We gathered one day, cannot remember the reason but it was a good idea.  TP also known as Tammy Pansa and yours truly just decided.  It did not go unnoticed that just about every street in Lake Worth had a bike lane, plus, no hills.  Can you imagine getting in your car to visit a friend or neighbor in our quirky little town NOT.

One of our premier spots Bryant Park and the park being adjacent to the intercostal waterway was the chosen place to meet. This is also where the Critical Mass group meets if that is your speed.  The historic Gulfstream Hotel stands and everyone knows where that is.  So it has become the gathering place.  Everyone is welcome!  We can boast having some riders in the late 80″s to our very youngest who rode with us just  last night (on our last Wednesday ride). How many are there, upwards 40 sometimes only 5 ride.p1010708

Why were we the Thursday night Peddlers riding on Wed. night?  One of our regular riders was opening her fledgling business on Thursday and as we are all friends we wanted to support her effort and made the switch.  As things go she faded out of our group.  On popular demand we are democratic after all we now switch back to Thursday nights.p1010712

With bright lights of the holidays, attached to our wheels, we are also the only bike group in the USA who carol during the holidays through  the various neighborhoods.  We welcome new neighbors,  have seen cottages before the furniture  arrived.  Many of our riders have swimming pools and on occasion we end up in one of those.  Best of all we get to lead the largest night-time Christmas Parade. We will be doing again this year.

Bon Voyage till we meet again
