a new month

Let’s start with the 1st of April which is today.  It is Friday and it is the first of the month that makes it Evening on the Avenue.  12923168_1157331377624712_4796106930057047658_nFor those uninitiated this is an open community event that happens each 1st and 3rd Friday of each month. on the Cultural Plaza located by the library on M st between Lake and Lucerne Avenues. There are always vendors present, The NAPC,  that stands for  Neighborhood Assoc. President’s Council which represent 16 LaKE WORTH NEIGHBORHOODS.  Look for the tent with the popcorn and introduce yourselves.  Each evening a different NA mans the booth this time it is Mango Grove  NA and the Beer Tent is Tropical Ridge NA.  So don’t forget to tip.    You can entertain yourself by strolling down the street and also enjoying music at the Palm Beach Cultural Council on the corner of L and Lake Ave.  It’s the Lobby Desk Concert presenting  accoustic guitarist Bobbi G Keep strolling down Lake Ave. make a left on J st. and Visit the Clay Metal Stone Gallery  15 s J st. you will not be disappointed. images-1It’s their annual Peeps Show. cropped-PB-Book-Festival-Logo_whitebg_border21

NO FOOLINg April 1 & 2  the Palm Beach Book Fair.  at the Norton Museum of Art which normally is free however here is the link and you will find it costs $100 bucks to attend . Want to have your book signed then you have to buy it there or at the Palm Beach Book Store.   Never thought I would promote something this pricey but I am a bibliophile. (All the book fairs i have ever attended have been free)  Farmers Market Logo  Saturday Morning  April 2,   9 a.m – 1 p.m. and only a few weekends  left so head on over to the beach  enjoy a morning cup of coffee along the Inter-coastal, check out the unique stalls.   at 10 a.m. – 4:30 just across the bridge in Bryant Park. Corvette Club of the Palm Beaches Car Show  Back to the Cultural Plaza  for the LW Art League outdoor show. 10 – 4 p.m.

SWIM Class schedule has been tweeked.  For anyone who loves to swim and the ocean is not your thing,  we have an Olympic size swimming pool in Lake Worth. It’s right at the beach.  Pool  is open Monday, Thursday, Friday 8 to noon, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 4 pm.      Take Sally (mermaid)Welsh’s class only $5  per session, paid to Sally .

WATER EXERCISE at  10:15, is Saturday and Sunday and added Thursdays. It has already began.  Children’s swim lessons will be offered in May.  Need specific info contact her mermaid.welsh@gmail.com

April – National Letter Writing Month.  US postal service celebrates April!  mail at least one item though the mail each day write a post card, send a photo, or a cutting from a newspaper.  New forever stamps have been issued.                                                                          Cultural Council of the Palm Beaches  601 Lake Ave. in downtown Lake Worth has this going on thru April   entry is FREE Exhibitions in the Main Gallery

imagesDSCN5552Every  Wednesday  Thursday Night Peddlers ride on Wednesday  meet at the Gulf stream Hotel and take off at 6:30    Everyone welcome ride as far as you want,   normally a 45 min. leisure ride.  Bring the kids and side cars.

Next weekend Reggae Fest, Bryant park and Lake Worth Art League will be at the beach
