On a dreary rainy day, yesterday, the yellow and purple balloons indicated the official ribbon cutting of the LaJoya Village affordable apartments. There are 55 units in the complex and the wait list has 65 families. Yes they achieved full occupancy. 10% of the units were set aside for veterans then it was by affordability in two price ranges. Some of the amenities is the splash pool and children’s area . I big plus in my book is the once a month art class given by Sami Makela where he maintains a spacious studio
and two rooms adjoining for use of that monthly class. Here at the reception the children’s art work was on display.
One of the amenities that I thought was a real positive was monthly financial consultation to assist those who need it to help with their budget, how to balance a check book (everyone needs that) and the 56 cameras in and about the property for safety. The honor of Cutting the ribbon went to our own Mayor Pam. Now for who was there, anyone and everyone who had a financial interest and our own dignitaries and even the Chamber of Commerce made a speech.
