Hello Pickle Ball Lake Worth’s Leisure Service Dept. has added another activity to it’s roster over my dead body ( I truly resisted this, as I am a Shuffleboard enthusiast*) So this past Tuesday I succumbed to Pickle Ball. It did not strain my elbow like tennis used to do. It allowed me to move at a comfortable pace with a bum knee and still indulge my competitive spirit. The expert instructor on hand was 81 . Again Lake Worth has some of the nicest people and many of them were right there enjoying a morning game. Played on the Sunset Ridge Tennis Courts, pickle ball uses a smaller area marked in red. It is shorter than a tennis court, and somewhat narrower and the rules are similar. It costs all of one dollar, and everything you need is provided. There is paddle, a slightly larger tennis ball with swiss cheesed holes. It’s been around since a good while, and now it is on the rise. Now it can be played outside or inside (oops no more shuffleboard bldg.) but we do have the Osborn Gym.
Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 a.m. See you there this coming Tuesday.
Editors Note: * Yes I resisted this, did not understand it. Was saddened that the historic Shuffleboard courts are no longer, even though there were plans to modify and keep for historic sentiment at least a few of the courts. Isn’t Lake Worth suppose to be quirky?
As I tell people I go with the flow
