Thursday Aug. 6, 2015   As always Today is the  ab5cccc7e7367eba542340d2defe34b1  beginning of our fun weekend so join the Thursday Night Peddlers for a ride through beautiful Lake Worth Beach.  We meet at the Gulfstream Hotel at 6:00 and ride 6:30  this is open to everyone. FREE gratis

Friday August 7   What we have been missing, as we got rained out.  So everyone come and fill the streets of Lake Worth,  Evening on the Avenue is upon us.   Of course we look forward to the Front Porch where if your new to town.  This is where you start to connect.   Check out the map and see which neighborhood is your neighborhood.  How about a game of scrabble.  This takes place on the Cultural Plaza between the Library and the Old City Hall. eoa_8x11flier_web

Now for the KIDS   pay attention as there is something a wee bit different.  There is Movie on the green and the film tomorrow Friday is  “BoxTrolls” around 6ish. an animation film. ( thumb_5575cde987efe2.27776105 remember, we missed Willie Wonka)

Saturday, August 15    next week Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (1971) |  will be shown right here on the Cultural Plaza 6 p.m  so tie a string around your pinkie so you’ll remember and come out next Saturday.  It’s a special treat after all.

Bring blankets or chairs. Food & beverages will be available for purchase.  Next week Saturday.

 

Friday evening in the Galleries    A special exhibit of Needlepoint art will be at the Flamingo Clay Metal Stone Gallery.15 s J st.   It is a posthumous show,  honoring.        Birthe Cacciatore birtheposter7x11

  All proceeds of the exhibit and sale of her art will be donated in her name to organizations dedicated to seeking a cure for COPD.

Friday evening  visit with the Artisans on the Avenue that is the other gallery right on Lake Ave. close to Dave’s  they are featuring a show of small works 6×6  e1efa0c0-0f5c-4656-a79f-71054d168a8d

 

 

FRiday   6:15   meet up between boat ramp and Gulf Stream Hotel.   Critical Mass Bike Ride for the hardy, approx. 10 miles around our lovely Lake Worth Beach, and yes we have hills.

Saturday August 8th  8:30 a.m.  Lets start the day with a Pancake Breakfast.  (We are so spoiled) $5 adults and kids $3  for pancakes and sausage.     imgres 8:30 a.m at Sacred Heart it’s a fundraiser and you can see by their logo where their hearts lay.  Sacred Heart is on n M st. around 4th st. 

 

 Saturday August 8th  Downtown is the 2nd Saturday sidewalk sale.

Noon 12:00   there is a FREE  gratis show at the Stonzek Theatre  “Castles in the SKY”

Bamboo Room  no cover   See Afinka Funk and Raggy Moinster  7 :00 p.m.

August 9, Sunday   where else but our fabulous beach.  Take a swim in our fabulous olympic size pool.  Join Sally Welsh’s class at 10:00 a.m.  images-2

A former Unite Press International photographer. Spent 9 years with Cruise Ship Photos of London. Moved to Lake Worth from Coconut Grove, with artist husband Fred Hunt. Never leaves the house without a camera. Writes another blog "One Ear Society" dealing with the ins and outs of the art world. Closed her Art Gallery in Coconut Grove after 17 years to relocate in Lake Worth.
