Last Night was the official kick off for the Rif Raft Race. It is looking better than ever. New trophies have been added, don’t they just look shiny but one.* This is where the Captain and first mate get their instructions as to the race course, what is appropriate behavior or good sportsmanship and if you look at these pictures you wouldn’t think they are all trying to out do each other.
Funny how certain topics at certain times bring out the punster, all are having a great time. They are all in the same boat (oops). The Moby Dick sign was everywhere photo bombing whenever ” smile” was heard. T-shirts were custom-made to identify the groups. Parrot Coves’s 50 shades of gray ought to bring out the limericks. There are three new entrants to this event and here you have Royal Poinciana 1st mate and El Capitano, they are newbies. And below entrants from outside of Lake Worth, their second year to participate. South Shores was the location of the Captains meeting and of course it opened up to everyone who wanted to come and brag about their stealth aircraft, (really College Park??) Check out the staff. What a thoughtful and great welcome. I do believe they love us. A great big thank you to Karin for supporting this fun Lake Worth Beach event.
T-shirts are still available but sizes have dwindled. They may have sold the last small one at this meeting. Pres. of the NAPC seen here Jon Faust and Fleet Admiral Mary Lindsey choose names out of a bucket and cross referenced the teams names with numbers indicating what heet each entrant would be rowing in. Good sportsmanship was touched on and the Rule book “No Rules” was sitting there among the shiny trophies. For all to peruse. On to Scuttlebutt. Yes Downtown Jewel is entering 30 little vessels. NOT but that came out of the mouth of one of their participants. The City is keeping mum and no amount of rephrasing the question from yours truly could I get the location of their raft. Missing from this was the founder Herman Robinson, duly noted. * The newest Trophy seen far right, not shiny. Here is a close up you have to see it to appreciate it.A good time was had by all and the fun continues TONIGHT Celebrity Bartenders AT THE MAD HATTER the events continue there is a “Raft Party each evening at one of our local establishments. Will keep you posted.
