So much going on this week. Photos documenting it all. Pretty much know, you missed something, Not all photos were taken by me. It was one of those weeks. Recapping and not necessarily in chronological order. Improvements are always welcome. Tropical Ridge na in the north-west quadrant had a ribbon cutting for the opening of their greenway. Congratulations Finally the long-awaited replacement of the Cultural Plaza. A Gumbo Limbo Tree!
Lake Worth Beach our fair City recognized its many many volunteers who give selflessly all year-long without regard to recognition. Our Mayor and City Manager and Sylvina in the office made sure the volunteers knew what a precious resource they are.
The Thursday Night Peddlers, always have a new joiner and off they went on this fab ride.
ride lasts anywhere from 45 leisure minutes to a possible whole hour. Someone took note of the new addition on the Cultural Plaza as chance would have it Evening on the Ave. was cancelled. This gave me the chance to see things that i normally give up for a friendly game of Scrabble at the Front Porch on the 1st and 3rd Friday. Driving through town who was spotted sitting at Dave’s
Dropped in on the Cultural Council and was driven out by the loud music. But a shout out to Suri who sponsored the evening there. Glad I went in, as I discovered a very interesting exhibition of photos. Go see them. Highly recommend these sensual vegetables. Not a joke they are stunning and the photographer has the eye and is sharing .
then on thru Lake Worth Beach to our Beach. Perfect evening. Cool ocean breeze and music coming from Benny’s at the Beach was pleasant and many decimals lower than the one I just mentioned above. Made you want to hang out. Visitors from afar. And unless you go up there regularly bet you did not know
that on the weekends Thurs. thru Sun. if you purchased a $2 bottle of water at Benny’s you can get a free pass to the pier. Entry to pier is on the left looking out at the Atlantic. Hard to keep up with all the good things happening here. Passed some of my favorite people sauntering across the street. Mel and Vinny with guests who also perform. Can’t wait for May 3 at the Mockingbird Garden, when they present lots of musician who are coming from all over to celebrate Pete Seeger and his music. Art Art Art
That took care of the Friday Evening without the Front Porch or Evening on the Ave.. Saturday it is. Behind closed doors. not locked. things are going on. Good news Clay Glass Metal Stone got another grant and so the place keeps improving. I was behind the scene and cannot show everything as they are prepping for a major art opening. This is going on in the Clay Glass Studio on south F st.
A Labor of love. NOW back round to those great VOLUNTEERS. THE BEACH CLEAN- UP. Count them 40 divers went into the water, 200 volunteers were cleaning on the beach, the likes of school children, girls scouts from the area and they picked up 600 lbs. of debris. AWESome. Thanks Wet Pleasure Dive Outfitters from Lantana. 15 minutes to closing Life Guard whistle blew and most everyone came out of the water. The lifeguards rescued a near drowning. Just 15 minutes before they go off the clock. So everyone know your rip tide signs and stay save.
