We have been riding together for more than a year. It fluctuates from week to week. Sometimes 35 riders and sometimes 4 (I’ve been corrected, two) but it happens every Thursday evening and now we meet around 6 ish and ride at 6:30 sharp, not. Leaving from the Gulfstream Hotel. For those who want to come along it is an open group. You can drop off any where along the way and if your running late, you would find us en route. We head south first along the Inter-coastal waterway down Lake Side Dr. to 18 south and come back up on Palm Way. All the way up on Palm Way north to 18th.
Along the way we gain a few riders and then we also lose a few when we get close to their homes. So how many are there? No telling. Now during the Holidays we all turn up for the Caroling of the different neighborhoods via our decorated lit up bikes.
Tonight was one of those special evenings. Cool comfortable good light and Mel brought music in preparation for the Pete Seeger do at the Mockingbird Garden on May 3rd, so we can all sing along. We get a lot of greetings from dog walkers and shouts that next week they will join us. Tonight we got a standing ovation, well almost.
we were appreciated with applause even though we interrupted the basketball game. Now that’s what living in Lake Worth is all about. Now tomorrow will be the Critical Mass ride in Lake Worth meets by the boat ramp 6:30 For us this was how we like to ride at a pace where we can chat with each other. Lake Worth has just about every street striped with bike lanes. Perfect just perfect and no hills.
