Historic Day for Lake Worth

First gay couple to marry in Lake Worth since last Monday.  The irony is not lost on me that it is also MLK Day.   DSCN6802Equal Rights for everyone including the Lake Worth Gay couple who tied the knot in our Lake Worth Beach community since Monday last.  A Historic Moment in our town.  Our friend and neighbor Michael and Ron. Congratulations.        P1000187                                                                                                                                                                    It occurred at 12:30 noon at South Shores Gastropub.  A small intimate luncheon affair.  So were there any glitches.  Well for 11 years they managed to misplace car keys, cell phones and today “where are the vows?”  The certificate still says bride and groom but Palm Beach where they got their papers, apologized that they did not have groom and groom yet. P1000195

This should be a boon for our Lake Worth Beach community.  Now if we only had a hotel or two to accommodate newlyweds and their entourage.  After all this is paradise.  Ron C. F. Flack has a FB page where he made the announcement around 5 p.m.  it’s official!

Now before someone tells me they are not the first, I do recognize that Caroline and Michelle had a ceremony on our Lake Worth Beach this summer.  DSCN7720On March 24, 2014  I wrote on this blog. “I would had estimated Florida lost approximately $250,000 upwards  in revenue from our small area alone.  Then I spotted one that cost $75,000 well lets bring those numbers right up, as I seriously started the tally what I saw.  Right up to around $500.000.  ”  this was on my blog during Marriage Equality demonstration in front of our City Hall.  So It’s about time.  We have a beautiful new beach complex any number of fine restaurants to accomodate these special nuptials. Might I also suggest that  our  cottages  are intimate and just perfect for two.
