Opening of Lake Worth’s Information Booth

This  week there is something NEW,  long overdue for our fair city. There are the usual things that happen with consistency here in Lake Worth Beach.   Bonfire on the Beach is one, Evening on the Ave. every other week. and so it goes.  It feels like home to me.                                                                                                                                     My blog is my personal voice of things I enjoy as time allows, things easily shared and in easy reach of our community.   However if you’re not reading this blog most Wed or Thursdays where would you get your information as to Who What Where ?  If you travel, regardless if you’re in Timbuktu near the Niger River or the Galapagos, owned by Ecuador there is a blue and white sign with a lower case i that is part of the International Graphic Symbol  (IGS) it  has come to Lake Worth and about time too.  This past Tuesday at City Hall It was introduced.  Drumroll

It came about via the  Lake Worth Cottages committee.   They organized and identified some of the gems of the more than 1,000 cottages, in Lake Worth Beach.  They have organized bike tours, there is a self guided pamphlet.  This all needs to be distributed.

Voila a Visitors Center. GRAND OPENING this Friday  10:00 A.M. in the old City Hall  ANNEX BUILDING  adjacent to our Cultural Plaza.  Where most of us pay or utility bills or used to.   Across from our City Library.  Steps away and below  our Lake Worth Museum.  Yes Virginia, we have one of those and now we have a Visitor Center as well. It is being manned by volunteers and to make it work, it needs to be staffed  VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.  Shifts available  Monday a.m. will see Mary Lindsey in the window.  Most of the volunteers at this time come from the Cottages volunteer group.

What do you look for when you travel to a foreign land, or metropolitan area?  Please share.  Your  input is welcome.10897117_788812647870588_9020120313805535426_n
