Life in Paradise

How wonderful to be blogging again….image.and how wonderful that AnnaMaria is going to be giving news about Lake Worth once more. She always keeps everyone so well informed about activities and goings on, I fear we have all missed out in her absence……so welcome back AnnaMaria, blogger extraordinaire!

I have to say that it is wonderful to be back and see all the lovely friends and folks here, it really is a slice of paradise.Things have been hugely busy as you can imagine, after a long absence so much time is spent getting the house and garden back into shape. It never ceases to amaze me how much the plants and flowers grow, as well as the weeds, which seem to come up everywhere and arevery hardy, no sooner have you pulled one than it is back again….still, it keeps us busy and in shape.                                                                                   So, what has been going on in the five weeks that we have been back….

imageWell, the Thursday Night Pedlars are still going strong and we have some new members who are enjoying the rides and are a great addition. We had a pool party after one sessions and it was enormous fun, everyone was in good spirits, the food was excellent and it was a great night, I love when the rides end with a party.

We have been to two big birthday parties, one was a 90th and the other just a mere 88! How fabulous it is to see these lovely people still going strong. They were both great parties, one at Bienvenuto and the other at the Atlantic Golf Club. Of course there are new faces to see and it was a joy to be in the company of these people both of whom have had the most interesting of lives.

imageWe have had visitors from England and it is always interesting to see our wonderful town through the eyes of newcomers, of course, they loved it all and were sorry to leave. I love to find places to visit and take the opportunity to find new trips to make. One was to The Morikama Gardens, I have been promising myself a trip there for ages and Iwas not disappointed, it was absolutely wonderful. So peaceful and tranquil…the gardens are amazing and full of the most beautiful flowers and plants, and absolute must for anyone. If you are anything like me there are often wonderful things on our doorstep but we never get to see them until someone visits.

There have been many events going on …….FlowFest, Art exhibitions and shows, great theatre programmes, interesting films on at the cinema and two great Friday Evenings on the Avenue…….last Friday was hopping and it took ahours to get round everything that was on offer. The music in the Plaza was great and spanned the ages, getting people up to dance and sing along, wonderful!!!

imageBird sitting Archie the parrot was fun and it was interesting trying to teach him new words! Amazing how having pets changes your life….you get into a new routine. This bird would squawk loudly if you were late opening his cage in the morning and would travel in and out if his cage all day long, come 7 pm that bird was in his hammock asleep with just his tail sticking out……incredible! Kind of missed him when he went home…

We have caught up with many friends and have been updated with all the news both good and not so good, that is a nice aspect of good friends, you don’t see them for three months and when you get together it is as if we saw each other yesterday…..

I have been to Anthropologie and helped with Christmas decorations, we have one more session making baubles next week, I love to do that, the store is amazing and the displays are awesome!!!!image

I been intrigued by Retro Jetro’s plaster car hunt each Saturday and have been scouring for clues and then up early and outfinding the cars, what a joy it is when you see one, you are compelled to keep looking……I am in the throes of painting the ones I have found and am goingto return them by the same method……it’s fun!!!

And finally, have you discovered the new restaurant on Dixie, Aiolis? It is open from 7 – 5 and if you have not been you should try it…..all food except for the breads are homemade…..and the selection is varied. The restaurant is clean and shiny, very comfortable…..GO!

Until next week’s adventure……be very happy!!!!!image
