Good Morning to a very humid Lake Worth.10377631_883612878322148_3301939839816222487_n

The weather is looking like Summer with the afternoon rain and sunshine, wonderful while it is happening but oh so very sticky for non Floridians! It is quite amazing at times when I am in Summer clothing (what other kind is there here in Lake Worth?) and friends who are full-time residents here are cold and wearing jackets, crazy! Anyway, I am back to England on Tuesday (tomorrow) where it is also Summer but around 75 degrees as opposed to 90 degrees! I will probably be the one feeling the cold. The storms at the weekend were phenomenal, I absolutely love it when the wind gets up  and the palms are almost bent to the ground, with rain so heavy you can hardly see in front of you, exhilarating! Well, it is if you are safe inside, not so exhilarating trying to drive.10414534_883613188322117_5258719267581951679_n

And it has been an extremely busy week as always when getting ready for a trip, packing and cleaning…..along with some exciting new experiences like the pontoon ride to celebrate a birthday, it was great.   Picked the boat up in Jupiter and sailed to several little inlets where the sand was gloriously white and the foliage was colourful. A hugely fun day and one that I would recommend to anyone who has never done this before, we hired it from Beach Water. Sports, and excellent company. Then there have been the usual get together, you know where you go out for a cycle, stop for a beer and before you know where you are, it is a party!  That is a great aspect of Lake Worth that I miss, a town so small that you know everyone and there is always something going on, good fun!

AnnaMaria painted the most wonderful backdrop   image copy 4  for the Moon Pool Party on Friday Night but we got rained out and unfortunately the event was cancelled and moved to South Shores. I am sure the backdrop will be used at many events over the Summer months and you will all get yo see it in its glory……..  image copy 2Then on Saturday, I was in Palm Springs helping with a children’s art group making things for Father’s Day. I so enjoyed it, working with children is so enlightening, they have no hangups and are happy to get on I with the task in hand, wonderful! The results really were quite stunning, especially the little ones when we took prints of their hands and feet….their dad’s will be happy!

I am pretty sure many dad’s throughout the world have enjoyed the day, it is funny that Father’s Day is the same in England but Mother’s. Day is a moveable feast and on totally different dates. I guess as long as we celebrate parents at some point in the year, it does not matter when we do it. I was reminded yesterday at church of just how many lovely people we have come to know here, when we said our goodbyes for a while and our friends were all so nice, is have said this before that when I am in England I never go to church but attend every week here at St Andrews, there is something so wonderful about that little community…I would recommend that little church to anyone looking for somewhere to worship that has everything one looks for in a church.
