Happy Cinco de Mayo to
everyone, I hope you have a happy day. To really, really enter into the spirit of things, you really should taste a REAL taste of Mexico and go along to The Taco Lady in L Street and sample some of her delicious food, I am totally addicted now…delicious!
Well, it has been a busy week this week as I knew it
Tuesday was the installation of The Mail Art Exhibit in the Lake Worth Museum I told you last week how wonderful this place is and what great memories are stored in there. Amazingly, some people did not even know of the existence of this facility let alone actually visit and see the exhibit for themselves. We completed the exhibition in good time and were ready with food and drinks by the time the doors opened on the dot of 7pm.
We had a great turnout and the event was declared a huge success. The art work in the envelopes themselves is second to none and each time I see the envelopes I see something that I have missed, and seeing them through the eyes of the visitors was even more enlightening….brilliant! Thank you to all involved for making it the success that it was, it truly was a team effort!
By Thursday I was more than ready for the cruise that we won at the fundraising event at E. R. Bradley’s Beach Club on the Lake Worth Municipal Golf Course. This trip did not disappoint and was huge fun from start to finish. I had never been to The Bahamas before and I was impressed by what I saw and experienced. These tours are amazing and extremely well organised, a very slick operation. I could not find one single thing to complain about, it was all wonderful from start to finish. There was one restaurant which served food all day and night. Soft drinks were available 24 hours and ice cream flowed all day and night, what more could you want. It appeared nothing was too much trouble and waiters and waitresses found themselves being bombarded with requests for this and that and were more than happy to oblige if it was possible. General staff were on hand to answer any other questions and were courteous and helpful at all times as was the gorgeous cabin boy who took great delight in producing yet another animal made out of the towels and wearing our sunglasses….gorgeous! The stay over on Grand Bahama was excellent, what a bright, bustling friendly place…a real treat!
We returned on Saturday having eaten far too much (there is something about food being so readily available at all times that makes you feel hungry!) and thoroughly enjoying the whole experience. That was without doubt what you call a raffle prize thanks to AnnaMaria!
Of course Derby Day was underway. By the time we returned home from the cruise we arrived at South Shore Tavern just in time to see the raffle being drawn and prizes awarded for hats and very loud shirts….it looked to be an excellent event and one that was so obviously enjoyed by one and all. There was little evidence of the fire that struck South Shores last week as Karine had got straight to work and new fencing was in place and everything wasrestored to normal, I cannot imagine what would have happened if the alert had not been sounded. In England today is a bank holiday and the weather is apparently gorgeous, that means everyone will be out having fun and enjoying themselves, pretty much like we do in Lake Worth all the time.
This week I complete my 100 days of happiness, it has been an excellent experience because although every day is happy, it makes me focus and think about all the wonderful things that happen….4 more to go! Someone asked me what next so I am going to complete 100 days of Random Acts of Kindness which will be either RAKs I notice other people carrying out opportunities for me to carry out or that other people do for me…should be interesting.
lovely week….I am sure Anna Maria will be posting lots to do, there is certainly never a dull moment around here!
