Earth Day was on April 22, 2014 middle of the week so all the activities to celebrate are scheduled this weekend. Saturday particularly will be a full day from 10 -10 p.m. Many times I make it a point to drop by and participate in the posted on goings. April 24, Thursday Night Peddlers meet-up. they ride every Thursday this is a weekly event. A leisure ride heading south first via the intercostal shoreline, then u turn at 18 south, heading north on Palm Way passing some of the loveliest homes. Meet up is at 6 in Bryant Park parking lot. Ride begins at 6:30 p.m. Open to anyone with a bike or non motorized vehicle. Friendliest people!
April 25, Friday weather permitting it is always pleasant on the corner of Lake Ave. and L street. Support our downtown Ice Cream Parlor Kilwins, they still have tables for their patrons. See and be seen as you stroll up and down the Avenues (Lake or Lucerne)
Saturday April 26 OH MY long day. First thing Great American Clean Up 8:00 a.m. in Tropical Ridge Neighborhood. Volunteers still welcome. Help install new playground equipment Courtesy of a grant from our CRA and KaBOOM Inc. located 211 n H Street. or look for the periwinkle blue tree 🙂 Ribbon cutting scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
9:00 a.m. Ocean Side Farmers Market. This is the last one of the season. So stock up, bread freezes real well.
10:00 a.m. Saturday participate in this Joint Friendly workout of Tai Chi. It is gaining popularity due to its many benefits. Tai Chi alleviates stress and anxiety “a form of meditation in motion. which promotes serenity and inner peace”. Tai Chi is considered to be safe for people of all ages as it does not put too much stress on the muscles and joints. at Bryant Park part of the Earth Day celebration. http://www.WorldTaiChiDay.org 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. the Front Porch sponsored by the Neighborhood Association Presidents Council will be open for friends and neighbors, new Lake Worth residents drop by. All Day on the Cultural Plaza will be activities relating to Earth Day.
Saturday April 26, 4 ish or approximately around that time will be the Tree Give-A-Way by the Tree Board. If you must be a resident, bring your utility bill.
Saturday April 26, 7:30 Film Screening A public screening of the award-winning documentary ‘The City Dark: A Search for Night on a Planet that Never Sleeps’ will take place at St. Andrews Episcopal Church’s Parish Hall (100 N Palmway, Lake Worth) 7:30 p.m. as part of the 2014 Lake Worth Earth Day Fest. info (561 231 3509 Richard Stowe )
Cultural Plaza Performances start 12:15 music 12:30 with KAT MAHONEY and culminates with 9:00 p.m. DRUM CIRCLE everyone invited to participate. Now, Something from my memory bank, it was a healing time in Woodstock N.Y, Just enjoyed the drum circle there every sunday from 4-6 all welcome. Lessons were free at 1 p.m. at the community center, then on to the circle for 4 p.m. at 6 p.m. at the end the Villiage Green emptied out .
