Good morning everyone….I hope the week has started well for you! it looks tobe a glorious one weather wise at least.
Another busy week has bitten the dust and another one begins, particularly with the Easter Event in Bryant Park only a week away, it is on Saturday and promises to be an awesome event with something for everyone! A real family affair, just what is needed for a holiday weekend.
In just the one evening $800 was raised, no mean feat and great amount to put towards the event. MaryLindsey was, as usual, a real boost and cajoled people to put their hands on their pockets, sing along and generally have a wonderful time and did it dressed in the most gorgeous princess pink dress which I get to wear next week,it is fabulous, I love it and will not want to return it to the owner
On Tuesday at Art Spirit, we painted blown eggs which were used to decorate the tables, very nice indeed! We started the Mail Art exhibition which will be on April 30th at the Lake Worth Historical Museum. If you remember this was a project undertaken to celebrate the 100 years anniversary of Lake Worth and consisted of getting artists from all over the world to send in decorated envelopes. They are amazing, real works of art and some of them extremely clever indeed. It will be worth coming along to see them and also to see what the museum itself has to offer if you have never been in there, it really is quite something and has the most interesting artefacts on display, I was fascinated by the amount of items in there. One of the amazing things I love about this place is the way the wildlife just wanders around in all it’s glory for us to marvel at and I saw these iguanas crossing front of me as I left the golf course the other day ……. amazing how they blend in, I almost ran one over on my bike, it’s okay I missed it!
I had been wanting to go to The Blue Front as it opened just as I left in December and I went on Friday. For those of you who have not yet been there is the most amazing garden which makes outside dining an absolute pleasure. I love the idea of a barbecue restaurant, we do not have them in England and of course, everyone loves a barbie, an enjoyable evening.
Taco Lady in Lake Worth has had a little facelift by way of a gorgeous new mural on the wall painted by Buttons Brokovitch, it really is quite lovely and depicts among so many other things, a lot of images which are so special to Miss Elizabeth, the owner. It is worth seeing and I can tell you the tacos are very good and really quite the best in town, if not in the whole of Florida……take a look for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
I attended a wedding on Saturday of some friends here in M Street, it was quite the most special wedding I have attended. It was Jewish and Buddhist combined, a glorious mix full of love and peace…..very uplifting! The weather was perfect, as was everything else about the occasion, I was lucky to be asked.
The weather in England is very nice, unseasonably warm for this time of year and very welcome as it is Easter Break from school. As you can see from the photographs, everything looks quite lovely. Bluebells are out and cover fields and woodland floors to make carpet after carpet of light blue, a glorious sight to be seen and one which can take your breath away. Every so often our old steam trains run and on a sunny day can look and smell wonderful, they bringout a lot of people to watch and look spectacular puffing through the countryside with the steam billowing out.
And it was The London Marathon this weekend, very successful and thank goodness, trouble-free! To watch this event is always exciting and I love the colours and the views as the runners and wheelchair snake their way round the streets of both old and new London, The Cutty Sark is a sight to be seen as it stands newly renovated after a fire, well done to everyone who took part, no mean feat I can tell you.
Have a wonderful week, I hope you will be at The Easter Event on Saturday, see you there!
