Rare EVENT near Lake Worth

This is a topic dear to my heart.  Calligraphy, not just any kind.  Opening this Saturday, March 22, 2014.    Be the first to view this amazing feat, the first such commissioned in 500 years.   A hand written illuminated Bible, at the Society of Four Arts, Palm Beach.imgres

Donald Jackson, Senior Scribe to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Crown Office, along with a collaborative team of artists and scribes worked for 15 years on these 1150 pages.  Modern scripts and ancient fonts mixed with 24K gold leaf,  make this a very exciting work of art. imgres-1

The Saint John’s Bible is the only handwritten and illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine Monastery since the advent of the printing press more than 500 years ago.  Commissioned by St. John’s Abbey and University in Minnesota and executed in Wales by 25 craftsmen under Donald  Jackson’s guidance..

68 pages from the 7 volume hand written and illuminated bible, will be exhibited at the Society of Four Arts.  Not necessarily the pages shown here.  A five min. video showing some of the creation will enhance your appreciation.  http://bit.ly/1ezYPv1.  There will be a lecture on Saturday morning at the Four Arts.
