from England with love

Happy Monday Morning Lake Worth, I hope all is well this mornng  and the sun is DSCN7884shining: beautifully. The weather here is improving gradually and people are feeling much more positive about the recovery of the flooded areas which look so much better now the water has subsided, I just hope the orediction for snow today does not come true.

This week has been a good one which has seen a lot of actvity and travelling. It started on Monday with a class at my voluntary place of work where we used items from the shop itself to upcycle in order to sell on. It was a sucessful session and we used much of the crockery……plates mostly to decorate and paint. One young couple tnat attended created some beautiful work which they both wanted to keep for themselves……….exatly what I would have done myself!

A governors meeting at school meant the day ended on a positive note. Here in England every school has a board  governors who manage the schools with the Headteacher and  Local Authority, it is an interesting job which I enjoy very much and it serves to keep me in touch with the world of education and I get to do what I love best of all, spend time in school and keep the contact with young people which is important to me as it keeps me up to date with what is current and trendy………….

10001441_821113764572060_1821478774_nWe also did very well in the Winter Olympics, not as successful as the USA of course, but well enought get a GOLD in the single bobsleigh, a fantastic achievement particularly as the winner was a woman! The speed they get up to is incredible and it is difficult to watch at times! A Bronze won by another fèmale was the snowboarding prize, another firstand again, a difficult sport to  watch. The curling  gained us another medal and also got many new fans… intriguing sport much  misunderstood, I cannot claim to understand it but nevertheless found myself hooked on it.safe_image

On Friday I travelled down to Cornwall, a beautiful part of the country which is well known for it’s beauty and a very popular TV programme which is filmed there….Doc Martin. A story about a doctor practising in a remote village in the area, very wholesome and quite amusing. tourists continually vivid this area and love to find the buildings that are used for the series….i found myself intrigued by the search as well. it is a series well worth watching if you can get British TV where you live.we have been staying in the most gorgeous converted Weselyan Chapel which lies in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fields and narrow winding lanes. All in all, a fabulous weekend has been had by all and we are leaving for home tomorrow early in the morning, usually takes around 5 hours to get home, mostly motorway driving so not a difficult journey.1900073_821113551238748_1347594088_n
