Art Palm Beach seen.

The Vernessage is as much as looking at art as seeing who is wearing what and you can always pick out the “Look at Me” .    Entrance into the Palm Beach convention center for Art Palm Beach always has a wow factor.  The piece of sculpture was amazing.  DSCN5118 DSCN5134  Something you could  not detect with the naked eye, the pulsating areas.  You just have to study a piece to apprciate all the nuances and this brings me to the following piece below.  It’s based on a simple toy of the past.  Leave it to an artist to bring it up to a higher purpose.  This by far was the most unique piece of art.  As one passes it changes the scene.DSCN5161 DSCN5162 DSCN5163  Now if you have to ask how much is it, you know you cannot afford it.  What did surprise me was the prices on the whole were down.  Yes, down on the majority of works seen.  There was one that just sky rocketed and that took me aback as the piece only four years ago, by a well respected Latin artist commanded then a high price of 85,000,that is for a living (Cuban) artist,  here at Art Palm Beach  the asking price for same piece reframed was over $300,000.   Then of course I’m always delighted to see artists who once graced the walls of the Windisch-Hunt Fine Art Gallery in Coconut Grove make it to this stage in their career. DSCN5123 2 It’s knowing artistic potential.  This artist studied in Italy.  Other artists who have blossomed i.e. Anouck, spend their resources on themselves via art materials, traveling to learn, and picking up that paintbrush daily.  No excuses! Most made the hard decisions to follow their passion.  You know it when you meet them.DSCN5135 DSCN5152

Black as always is de riguour for galleriest, what a delight to see my favorite colour sprinkled in the sea of black. Certainly did find my favorite piece here.  There is always one that just speaks to you, for me it was this piece. DSCN5139

The End

The End

I have a personal interest in the art world since I wrote an art blog which had been recommended reading, out of the NY art scene.  Never was  one to shy away from citisism.  I can truly say all my friends in my past live were artists, that is the world I know.
