Festival of trees

It’s been unusually chilly for Florida on the whole, but there is definitely a reason  for Lake Worth’s motto being “Where the tropics begin”.  We have the gulf stream moving north, pushing the warm air up from the Bahamas, while the cold weather comes from the north so where is that demarcation line?  Jupiter just 40 miles north of us, and what a difference.  DSCN4880 We enjoyed a beautiful day for the Festival of Trees, and everyone seemed to be in attendance.  It was crowded throught the day with lots to see and do.  Didn’t matter what you were into,  orchids, native plants, trees, gardening advice.

Commemorative tiles still available for the Mockingbird Garden mural.  Front Porch is making itself available for all community events and it adds such a nice homey touch. DSCN4864 The weather could not have been any better and music was something new this year.   People hung about taking in the midday sun.  A new addition to the plaza by the City Hall Annex entrance is a East Palatka Holly.  in Memory of Josette Kaufman past Chair of the Lake Worth City Tree Board donated by her parents. This tree will bear fruit just about next christmas time. . DSCN4964

Never leaves the house without a camera. Writes another blog "One Ear Society" dealing with the ins and outs of the art world. Closed her Art Gallery in Coconut Grove after 17 years to relocate in Lake Worth.
