The Party that was

Count on it.   King Mango Strut Parade is always Sunday after Christmas, the banana drops at 2 p.m. and the parade is under way in Coconut Grove.  This is one of the premier satirical parades in this country.  The Kazooo crew in Coconut Grove was rejected from participating in the annual King Orange Bowl Parade and this rejection slip, gave the birth to The King Mango Strut Parade.  As Karma goes KingMSP outlasted the now defunct  King Orange Bowl Parade.      DSCN4342 (1) DSCN4292 DSCN4331 (1) DSCN4385 DSCN4332 (1) DSCN4372 2 Think of it, as a bit like Lake Worth’s Grunge Cup but on land.  Sometimes the craziest things happen two days before the parade and you will see it in the parade. Our first warm welcome came from the Coconut Grove Grapevine Blogger who got me started blogging.  He will have lots of photos.  When you in the parade your  somewhat contained.  Catching the  crowds reaction is what I love.DSCN4195

You’ve heard me say Lake Worth to me is a cross between Coconut Grove and Key West.   Today was the convergence point for those two places.  Saw friends from each of those quirky places. Yes, in the parade.    It worked, no rain

Hashers appeared from no where and every year circle the parade 3 times to our one strut.      spotted!SPOTTED you know who!    Also seen and heard by special request our own troubadours, check out the crowd.DSCN4371

DSCN4266The Beatles  Reunion.   The best part is the crowd, they know how to watch a parade  in style.      DSCN4375DSCN4338

Totally unorthodox people ran into the streets to greet Fred, guess they missed him.  the crowd was shouting FRED FRED FRED   This one brought his friend out and shouted “you know all those murals at the university this is the artist  I told you about”  Crazy funny.  For lots more photos I posted https://www.facebook.com/annamariawindischhunt  then check in with the Coconut Grove Grapevines FB also.   Feel free to tag your friends on my FaceBook.
