A city of Cottages

Lake Worth is one of those wonderful laid back, friendly, oceanside towns with a beach that no one knows about.  But what is going to put Lake Worth on the Map is it’s stock of over 200 small charming cottages.  IMG_1982Last night was a meeting of like minded people who make their homes in these cottages. Many attending, not only make them their primary residence but have renovated them to the original plans down to copying the fretwork dating back to the early twenties a few cottages are even older than this.  DSCN3602 Historic preservation is the name of the game.    In the planning stages is a tourist walking/driving map.  Face Book page has been created check it out.  Like them and stay tuned with all the happenings and images of the cottages.  An actual tour of the cottages is also being planned for 2014      DSCN0843      This is   drum roll    oxoxoxo  Lake Worth’s Beach! Lake Worth Casino and beach photo by AnnaMaria Windisch-HuntLake Worth Casino and Beach                                                                                                           photo by AnnaMaria Windisch-Hunt

Now about that friendly part. I heard this and like it.  If you have a teenager you have lots of kids around your home, if you have a cottage you have lots of friends.

I think this is a great idea, preservation is paramount. Too many developers want to tear these gems down.
