Good morning Lake Worth, and what a gorgeous morning it is! I have been back here just over 3 weeks and have not yet seen a drop of rain, I know it is badly needed so hopefully we will have some heavy night showers to both clear the humidity and water our gardens. It has been so busy recently, although I think I find that the case all the time here, one week rolls into another far too quickly. It has been an exciting time …this week I went to Miami and had a wonderful day, two hour coach tour and three hour boat trip around the famous house landmarks, all for $27, this was all thanks to a groupon...they have the most amazing deals at times, if you do not do groupon, I would recommend that you look at it! Halloween was great, our Thursday Night Peddlars dressed up and cycled around town, what a great evening…we even had wine provided at one venue. It was lovely seeing families join together having fun tricking and treating and the effort most people put into costumes was second to none. On Friday I went to North grade Elementary a School where we are starting a project with the students…they will be painting their own flower pots and lasting seed…hopefully these seeds will grow and bee nought to feed their family eventually, we want to try and get them thinking about healthy eating. There will also be a reading programme starting, anyone interested will be gratefully received. Where else but Lake Worth can we have a Saturday that is jam packed with events…first stop Flow Fest, amazing performers, a real feel good event. On to the art show in the square, a great array of varied work from local artists. Then the piano outside The Cultural Centre, part of a project where 12 pianos have been painted by local artists and are placed in a variety of places where pianists will come at a variety of times to entertain. A notice on the piano invites anyone to play the instrument, what a wonderful idea. At the end of the two weeks the piano is auctioned off and the money donated to local children’s charities. On Saturday the pianist was blind and a real genius on the piano. His guide dog was a poodle, something I had never seen before, a gorgeous dog. What a show, the music was varied and had everyone tapping their feet. I know of at least two more events that I did not get to visit…….what a place to live.
I am off to Savanna, then on to Charlson, looking forward to exploring more of this beautiful area. Art at the Eco is coming on well, anyone who feels that they could donate raffle prizes or anything else is welcome or contact us here on the blog. I hope that your week ahead is full of wonder…enjoy!!!!!
