get ready

A long weekend ahead and a stop at our local grocery store is inevitable.  For me, I just stopped by for a ice cream treat.  Today the Art Deco Publix was busy busy busy.  I never take a cart.  so I go often.  It’s a happy place as groceries  stores go, almost  social if they had a coffee bar like Sabor about a mile away.

I know a neighbor who when dropped off will spend the morning chatting with everyone she knows.  What would be a 20 min trip for most of us, turns out to be a morning excursion.  I run into joyful people, neighbors and this is one reason I love Lake Worth.  Lake Worth has that special feel, quirky? perhaps, friendly? for sure.  Now the pharmacy will be closed for Labor Day please take note.

DSCN0385  Have gotten to know some of the staff .  Always helpful and accommodating. DSCN0390  Experienced a wonderful moment at our Art Deco Publix  today.  The young woman behind me  (I was oblivious taking photos) from West Palm Beach shops here.  She cheerfully  added change that was owed the cashier from previous customer who was short.  What a great moment to witness this kindness,  definitely an Angel among us in disguise.

Busy place, Lake Worth Art Deco Publix

Busy place, Lake Worth Art Deco PubliWas at this stores grand opening and within days realized it should have been larger.   A case of if you build they it will come thanks to the CRA.  It’s that kind of place we cannot do without it, it is downtown Lake Worth and within walking distance to half our population.  Like I said busy busy busy especially near holiday weekends.
