No rain this morning folks… but it is still wonderful even when the rain falls, that lovely smell that lingers in the air, mmmmm!     What a great week, busy as usual but fun.     Cinema on Monday with friends,   image       ‘Heat’ with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, funny slap stick, feel good film worth watching….I love when all the audience are laughing.       Tuesday and Thursday was art at the shuffleboard court, always a good session, different people pop in and out. Artists and non artists, all interesting people who contribute to make the afternoon a good experience. We stop for tea (very civilised!) and put the world to rights by conversing about all manner of subjects.      DSCN8186   Anyone is welcome, give it a whirl!  Wednesday is voluntary day in Northwood at The Blue Planet Writing Rooms, where we do anything from  typing up student’s work, writing lesson plans, organising teacher resources…always something going on, new people to meet, new experiences to encounter.        image copy 4 The evening was spent with friends watching films and photographs from their recent trip to Poland and the Ukraine. Another new experience, chocolate spaghetti! Initially I thought Yuk! But, it was fabulous, served mixed with marscapone cheese and fruit, I  can recommend this dish vey highly. If offered it, grab it with both hands.      On Friday a meal with the people who have been involved with the community garden wall was fun. I am amazed at how many people have never heard of the community gardens, they are situated in D Street, next to the Scottish Rites Masonic Lodge. It is worth a visit, you can buy produce and plants, attend functions, tend a garden and eventually will be able to marvel at the new tile wall!          image copy 3

We organised brunch at St Andrews Episcopal Church yesterday….this is a great church which is actually fun to attend. Everyone is so friendly and the brunch following the
service is an opportunity for new friendships to be formed and to be made to
feel very much a part of the community. Another recommendation!!         I hope the week to come is as much fun for you, enjoy!
