Happy Monday, my Lake Worth Friends……you certainly know how to ROCK in Lake Worth. I was in Rhode Island for the holiday but kept a close eye on what was going on here. From the boat race to the pie making to the fireworks … It was impressive. As usual, when something is successful, there has been much going on behind the scenes. I saw at first hand how much effort went into the boat race, I helped in a small way with The Mango Groves Entry…the meetings, the decorating, the costumes, dance sequences, practices…extremely time consuming and an organisational headache. This would have been the same for each neighbourhood that entered. The Bryant Park event where I know several people who worked stalls all day because everyone else was busy with something else was organized and pulled together by a team!

Events such as these bring people together and allow the neighbourhoods to pull together, enjoying fun and the company of each other. No wonder I love my time here! The  National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance always make me emotional and I am reminded of the loyalty that American Citizens have for their country.

When in Rhode Island we celebrated a 90th birthday, something that is getting to be a common occurrence these days. July 4th was spent in the company of some 50 members of friends and family at a beach house near Galillee.     1044273_678947172122054_1821384477_n Fun all the way with team games, parades, pot luck food and lots of that good American hospitality experienced wherever we go.
