Lake Worth Biking

Lake Worth, Florida has got to be the easiest place to bike.  Doesn’t matter when I leave my house if I don’t see a bike ride by it will only be minutes till I do.  Just about every street has bike lanes.  Just Saturday morning right at sunrise the Bryant Park Parking lot was full of spandex riders (very serious riders).  Then there are the others pictured here that do it for pleasure, for errands, or because it’s environmentally correct.  Every Thursday evening the Thursday night peddlers ride from Bryant park at 6 p.m.  this is an unorganized, everyone welcome group.  They’ve been invited to ride this coming Saturday  on a tour in tandem with Martin Luther King celebration.  Into the future there is a major ride to the Norton Museum in the works.  By easy riding  I mean no hills, one way streets well marked.  There is a lovely tradition in Norway that when a person you know is having a birthday all those who know him raise a flag in their honor.  It makes the whole town quite festive looking. When I experienced that, I thought it was a national holiday.  These pennant flags will have to suffice.  Here’s to you Mike, Happy Birthday neighbor.                                                        Happy Birthday bike postcard.Happy Birthday Mike
