We all arrived within minutes the earliest arrival, that would be Joe, the one on the far left. He got there 5:45. The long wait till seven didn’t seem so bad when your at the front of the line. Those who follow my blog posts know I always have my camera and illustrate my blog via photos. These pictures show you who we were. As the Lantana Library voting station opened the very first person is this slight young woman above. It is Joe’s wife Susan, she got there five minutes before the polls opened. WOW He held that spot an hour for her on this dark chilly dreary morning. She must be special, but I think he is a keeper. He voted yesterday. This was our second attempt, but listening to the others in line, for some it was their third or fourth attempt. The library was warm and welcoming after an hour in the cold. The first twelve got lucky as we were indoors when the computer system went down at 7:08. Then one of the machines that print out the ballots on demand jammed. When we finished and got outside the line was as long as it had been yesterday.
We decided to try this morning, that the wait for anyone over 72 (not me) is arduous. We witnessed one elderly man fall flat on his face from exhaustion yesterday. This is something that ought to be looked into. If your going to use your inalienable rights take a light weight folding chair. The photo of our first voter today was kindly provided by Joe Thank You.
