Count down continues

Friday morning welcomed a new family to Lake Worth’s Tropical Ridge neighborhood.  The emotions are heart wrenching, usually Mayor Pam is teary but this time, most of the audience was emotional.  It’s gratifying to see the new home owners realizing their dream of home ownership.
This was home #19, only 18 more to go, with completion date nearing.  By February 2013  this NSP2 program thanks to President Obama, will have run its course.  Many in attendance are the volunteers who worked on this particular home, wishing the young couple well.  Also on hand the Lake Worth dignitaries and welcoming neighbors.  We learn a bit about the new homeowners as they are introduced by Bernadette Diaz.

Hands on the house is one of the blessings given at each dedication.  Here you can see even the babies hand is on the house.  Always thought this a special moment.
