Most everyone read about what happened down on Hallendale Beach a couple of months ago. If you live near a beach anywhere in Florida well, we were all tuned into this drama. They (an outsourced service) fired the young guard for a rescue know what I’m talking about. They gave him the key to the city and offered his job back. He’s moved on.
As of Oct. 1st the jobs were filled. Several of his fellow life guards also quit in protest. From the SunSentenial Oct. 1, 2012 this “They hired former divers with the U.S. Navy and the U.S. coast Guard along with five former members of the Cuban Water Polo Team. They are the ones hoping to rescue the tiny Broward coastal city from public relations nightmare that splashed across the glob earlier this summer.” Well well what do you know, 209 showed up for the job. One was an ex-navy diver, a champion surfer. We recently were told at LW City Hall it would take 90 days to find qualified people. just saying. >
