Who is this kid?

Last night I happen on the LULA Cultural Plaza after a stroll down the avenue.  It was one of those evenings when the stars are aligned and everything is in sync .  Weather had cooled  for a pleasant outdoor experience.  Little girls were dressed in their pretty summer dresses.  Couples holding hands, it was just that kind of evening.  The program for this Friday’s “Evening on the Avenue” was “The Kids Are Alright”  featuring fledgling bands.  I missed it but I did catch the last act.  OMG  I was totally mesmerized as Alex Shaw age 11 took to the stage and hit the first couple of strings of a Jimi Hendrix number.  Getting down and doing with aplomb.  The entire crowd was transfixed.  Every camera was fixed on the stage.   This was not just a neighborhood appearance of a talented kid,  this was a performance to remember!   Note, we will hear from him again.  Lets put this in perspective,  Mozart was eleven when he performed and i’m not taking it for granted that Alex learned overnight.  Watch out for this talent.

Christy Lepir on base, Bryce Kvitz on drums.  In my uploading to You Tube there were quite a number of Alex Shaw videos out there.  The kids been doing this for quite a while.
