FREE this Saturday

On the first Saturday of the month, all Palm Beach residents can visit the Norton Museum free.  That’s tomorrow.  The current exhibit is showing Edward Gory.  You may not know his name but you have seen his work.  At the beginning of Master Piece Theatre there is a snipped of a woman falling off a balustrade with a errie peacock cry.   That’ his work.  Definitely a must see for me, I who have been his fan for ever so long.  When I mentioned the exhibit to my husband he said “Oh yes I introduced him to you” not.  Long before I met him I had this book in my collection, Son of the Martini Cookbook illustrated by Edward Gory. This will be the highlight for me. There is another painting in the Norton collection that has always intrigued me.  It’s on the top floor to the left.   It shows a madonna with blue shawl and in her hands, I kid you not, an iPad.    Look for yourself.  When you exit down don’t cheat yourself use the stairs there are some wonderful quotes by famous artists, like  “I go to work as others rush to see their mistresses ….  (now you have to take this into context of a time when this was the de rigueur.  I leave it to you to tell me what artist said that.  There will be a test 🙂  Don’t miss this opportunity to see the Norton. FREE !
