More needed

Just the other day the South Palm Park NA made an awesome presentation during City commission meeting, at the end their President held up a basket of school supplies that were gathered by them.    Followed the trail to old City Hall and decided to take a look see.  Our Lake Worth librarians were busy.  Sorting all the donations for the kids who don’t have what they need to participate when school starts August 20.  These donations stay in our community.

More are needed and welcome.   Didn’t really know of this effort as my BFF a teacher, was forever treating her kids to things.   Never thought she could afford it.  Teachers go into this line of work because they care.  My niece just got her first 3rd grade class up north. It’s not all school supplies, hand sanitizers have got to be as important as pencils, composition books and the list is extensive.  If anyone of us went through our drawers we would find unsharpened pencils, borrowed/stolen pens, I adopt them.  The Lake Worth library is still accepting donations and as I mentioned it stays in our community schools.  Barton, Highland, North Grade, South Grade all elementary and Lake Worth Middle.  This is the fourth year for this program.  Think, if almost 80% are in need of school lunches. money for these colorful pretty supplies seem frivolous.  If your reading this, check your desk drawer right now.  No one said it had to be brand new.  In our community the need is great.  There is one more thing you can do while sitting at your desk.  It’s VOTE  at Give with Target they want to give $10,000 to individual schools.
