Portrait of our artist Annette Rawlings

Multifaceted artist Annette Rawlings  makes her home here in Lake Worth, she migrated here from Coconut Grove lured here by the promise of the LULA program.   She practices a traditional work ethic, in as her paintings are on linen, to which she first adheres rabbit skin glue as a ground for her female forms. She’s been compared to Modigliani.  I see influences by Will Barnet but whoever influenced her, she is true to her minimalist art form.  Her work was exhibited at the Louvre just as she was making preparations to move to Lake Worth.  The Nat’l Museum for Women in the Arts, Washington D.C.  showcased her jewelry.  Check out her website, it’s quite impressive.   Her studio/home is at Palm Lakes and the place is filled with her art  as well as her personal art collection.  Not only is she an artist, she has worked as Curator for the Museum of Modern Art in the South of France.   She has promoted artists careers in her role as art consultant. Annette’s  ceramics and hand painted table linens make wonderful gifts.  Lake Worth truly will be a contender in art circles and with collectors, with the quality of artists LULA is attracting.  This is a series showcasing the artists of Lake Worth
